Get Ready for Camp! Best Practices for Prepping for Day 1
The first day of camp is right around the corner, and we know you’re likely feeling the anticipation! Whether this is your first season with us or you’re a seasoned CampDoc or SchoolDoc veteran, proper preparation and organization is key to having a smooth and enjoyable experience. Below are some best practices to help you and your team prepare for the season ahead!
- Keep your staff in the loop - make sure your health staff are familiar and comfortable with using our app, particularly navigating the Health Log & eMAR, using the List Builder, and/or creating reports.
-
Check those unlock requests - sometimes participants need to update their health information. Here’s the thing: if their session is past the lockout date, they’ll need to request that you unlock their profile. Make sure to check those requests and, if you approve any requests, review what updates were made.
-
Reach out to your families - Did you know you can increase the frequency of profile notifications? You can also send personal emails (individually or in bulk!) to encourage families to complete their accounts.
- Prep your Health Log - You can customize the Health Log by adding locations and dispositions specific to your organization. When it comes time for your health staff to create new Health Log entries, they can easily select the appropriate locations and dispositions.
-
Upload those paper forms - If your organization has collected any paper forms from families, be sure to upload them into each participant’s health profile before the first day.

We want to hear from you! What’re some tips you have for preparing for the first day of camp? Maybe you learned the hard way last year (that’s okay - ‘twas a learning opportunity!), or maybe you’re a new organization trying to be proactive. We’d love to have you share, and who knows, you might help a fellow organization!
