View your form updates exactly as a participant would see them without needing to create fake test profiles or publish unfinished work to your live site. This allows you to test complex questions and logic instantly, saving you time and giving you confidence every time you hit 'publish.' Draftset Preview mirrors the participant experience for your Health Profile forms. This "test mode" lets you fill out answers and navigate through steps to verify that your conditional logic (e.g., questions that only show up for 10-year-olds, staff forms, etc.) is working correctly—all without saving any fake data to your account. In Preview Mode, any answers you type or boxes you check will not be saved to your database, keeping your reports clean and accurate.
00:03:
00:05: Well,
00:06: hi there.
00:07: I'm Phil from the DocNetwork Training Team.

00:13: forms, we know that hitting publish can feel like a leap of faith.
00:18: When you're dealing with complex logic, legal e-signatures, and different
00:22: participant types, you want to be 100% sure that the experience is perfect before it
00:27: reaches your families.
00:29: Until now, testing meant back and forth with test profiles or utilizing bugherd.
00:34: Well, that all changes now with the introduction of our draftset preview mode,
00:39: a 100% safe interactive environment that mirrors the live participant view without
00:45: ever impacting your live data.
00:47: Think of this as your quality assurance tool for form building.
00:50: You can now simulate the participants journey through the health profile
00:54: from age restricted questions to group specific forms, and you can make adjustments
00:59: as needed.
01:00: Let's jump into Builder and I'll show you how it works.
01:05: Once you've logged into your provider account, and assuming you have the proper
01:08: permissions enrolled, you'll first navigate to the Settings tab on the left-hand
01:13: side,
01:14: and then select Builder.
01:17: You'll then select the Active Draft Set that you're currently working on.
01:21: Or if you're ready to preview it right away,
01:23: you can simply click on the Preview button
01:25: right on the tile.
01:29: If you do select the Active Draft Set, as soon as you click it, this Test Profile
01:33: Restrictions box will pop up
01:36: This is where you set the persona you want to test.
01:40: Instead of creating a fake profile, you can simply choose the variables here,
01:46: like returning participant,
01:48: age, sex, or registration type, to see how your forms adapt for that specific
01:53: person.
01:57: Once you hit preview draft set,
01:59: you'll notice this blue confirmation banner at the top.
02:02: This is your notice that you are in a safe zone.
02:05: Anything you do here,
02:06: typing,
02:07: checking boxes,
02:09: or signing
02:10: is temporary.
02:12: It will not save to your database or mess up your completion percentages.
02:17: You may notice that some boxes or buttons are intentionally disabled.
02:21: This is part of that safe zone protection, ensuring you can test the core workflow
02:26: without triggering specific live actions
02:29: or permanent changes.
02:32: If you want to change your scenario once you're already inside
02:35: the preview,
02:35: you don't need to leave.
02:36: Just use the test profile restrictions panel
02:40: on the left
02:41: and click update preview.
02:43: Your restriction options include things like age.
02:47: If you have a question that should only show for campers over the age of 10,
02:51: toggle the age to 5 and
02:53: there it goes.
02:56: You can also change your subgroup restrictions.
02:58: Switch between camper and staff registration type to ensure your subgroup
03:02: restrictions
03:03: are correct for the right people.
03:05: people.
03:06: And
03:08: returning users.
03:09: You can even toggle returning status to see exactly how expired fields will impact
03:15: the forms
03:16: for a participant coming back for another season.
03:22: We know how much pressure there is to get every detail right.
03:25: That's why our preview lets you actually use your forms before your users do.
03:30: You can upload files and test signing flows
03:33: in a private space
03:35: where mistakes don't matter.
03:36: It's the best way to catch errors early
03:39: and feel 100% ready before you hit Apply.
03:44: Now let's say I spot a typo or a formatting issue while testing.

03:54: that only appears for questions with active drafts.
03:58: Clicking this takes me directly back to that specific spot in the builder.
04:03: I can fix the error,
04:05: or make any updates
04:07: and jump right back into my flow without losing my place.

04:17: back to builder to head back to your active draft sets and then apply your changes.

There are two ways to enter Preview, depending on where you are in your workflow:
From within an open Draftset:
If you're already inside a draftset making edits and want to preview your changes without navigating away, click the Preview button in the banner at the top of the screen.
From the Draftsets landing page:
Navigate to Builder and select the Active Draftset you are currently editing.
Click the Preview button located in the draftset header.
Test different participant scenarios to ensure your logic works for everyone Example: Set the age to "5" to verify that "High School Diploma" questions disappear.
Locate the Test Profile Restrictions settings panel (on the left side of the screen). Here, you can toggle variables to see how the form adapts in real-time:
New vs. Returning: Toggle this setting to verify that expiration dates and carried-over data appear as intended for returning families.
Subgroups: Select various subgroups or registration types (e.g., "Camper" vs. "Staff") to verify that relevant forms and restrictions update correctly for different groups. NOTE: Selecting multiple sessions with different health profile forms will display a combined view of all associated questions in the draft preview — this may not accurately reflect how each profile is individually configured.
Age & Sex: Adjust these to verify that age-specific questions appear or disappear correctly.
Interact with the Form: Fill out questions, upload a sample file, and even sign authorizations. The preview allows you to simulate the full experience—including reaching 100% completion—so you can verify the flow without risk. Note: When you enter Preview Mode, look for the confirmation banner at the top of your screen.
Fix Issues Instantly: If you spot a typo or a question that isn't behaving correctly, look for the Edit link next to it () ; please note this icon only appears for questions that have active drafts. Clicking this will take you directly back to that specific question in the Builder, allowing you to fix it immediately without losing your place.
Return to Builder: When you are finished testing, click the Back to Builder button to exit the preview and continue working.
Pro-Tip: Use the Preview mode to test Expirations for returning participants. You can see exactly how the prompts to reconfirm information and expired questions will look to a parent/guardian whose participant is returning for another season.
Warning: Clicking Apply Draftset in the Builder is permanent. Applying a draftset immediately pushes changes to your live forms and can affect profile completion percentages for current participants. Always preview before you apply.
Q: Will filling out forms or signing waivers in Preview mode save data to my profile or mess up my reports?
A: No. The Preview mode is a completely safe "sandbox" environment. You can fill out forms, sign waivers, and test logic without saving any data to a profile or the database. We've even included a clear banner to remind you that your testing won't affect registration numbers, profile completion percentages, or any other live reports.
Q: Can I see what the form looks like for different groups, such as specific ages or Staff vs. Campers?
A: Yes. Within the Preview, you can toggle participant variables like Returning,Age, Sex, and Registration Type (e.g., Staff vs. Camper). This allows you to see exactly which questions and forms appear for each group and verify that your logic is working correctly without needing to create a fake profile for every scenario.
Q: 'Do I still need to publish my draftset to see if my changes worked?'
A: No. This update eliminates that step. You can now validate your logic, formatting, and flow before you publish. This saves you time and prevents the accidental release of errors to your families. Once you're confident in your changes, you can then publish the draftset when you're ready.
Q: How do I fix an error found in Preview without losing my place?
A: You can return to the Builder instantly using the "Back to Draftset" button or by using the direct deep links located on specific questions. These shortcuts take you exactly where you need to go in the editing screen, ensuring you can fix errors immediately without losing your context or progress.
Q: Does the preview support complex steps like e-signatures and expiration dates?
A: Yes. You can simulate the entire participant journey, including authorization steps, e-signatures, and even view expiration/renewal states for returning participants to ensure full workflow accuracy.
