An Equitable Camp Registration Process
For the last 2 years, opening night of camp registration has felt like going in person to a big box store on Black Friday. Fortunately our CampDoc software has seemed to hold up to the deluge, but our camps have filled in 15-20 minutes. None of us run camps to get rich, so the relief that our programs are full is quickly overshadowed by the realization that our registration has become a race and we know who gets left behind: folks with slower internet connection, single parents, caregivers that work nights, etc are all being left off of our rosters.
So I would love to hear from the community: how do you use CampDoc to assist with a more equitable registration process? Do you use a lottery? Do you open up just a few slots each day? How do you leverage the software to do this?

Some of our camps embrace the competitive race for registration. Others prefer to roll them out over time. I can't make any promises but I can tell you that we on the CampDoc development team are thinking of how we can improve our software to better support different registration scenarios and make our currently supported methods more robust. It's important to me that every kid who wants to go to camp gets the opportunity without the technology getting in the way.
Sorry I don't have a better answer for you, but I hope that it helps to know you have been heard and the people writing the software are thinking of ways to solve the problem.
