This document will show you how to set up your Google Analytics (GA) Dashboard for your CampDoc or SchoolDoc account. For more information on Google Analytics, including a glossary of terms, please visit the Google Analytics Help Center.
Google Analytics will be asking its users to convert to GA4 on or before July 2023, as Universal Analytics (UA) will no longer be available after this date. You are not required to convert to GA4 as we do support UA tracking ID’s. Visit our GA4 Google Analytics Setup for Providers if you are on the GA4 model.

Accessing your UA Tracking ID
For additional assistance on accessing your GA Tracking ID, visit the GA Tracking ID Support page.
- Sign in to your organization's GA account.
- At the bottom of the left sidebar, click Admin.
- At the top of the Property column, select your property.
- In the Property column, click Tracking Info.
- Click the Tracking Code dropdown option.
- Your "UA-" ID appears in the top left, next to Status.
Setting Up your GA Tracking ID
If you are the CampDoc or SchoolDoc top-level permissions holder at your organization, you can enable Google Analytics for your organization from your Provider Portal. You will first want to make sure that your Analytics permissions are set to Edit.

Log in to your CampDoc or SchoolDoc account.

In the menu, click Settings.

In the submenu that appears, click General.

In the Profiles tab, click Permissions.

In the Select Role box, select the Role that will be responsible for Google Analytics.

Scroll down to Settings.

Under the Analytics permissions, select Edit.

Click Save Role.
- In the Settings submenu, click Analytics.
- Input your Google Analytics Identifier and click Save.
Creating Goals in GA
It could take up to 24 hours for your new goals to appear in your dashboard.

Sign in to your organization's GA account.

At the bottom of the left sidebar, click Admin.

In the far right column, select your desired view.
Note: Views are unique to your organization and allow you to access reports and analysis tools.The view table on the far right in the screenshot below allows you to manage and configure any of your current pages.

In the View column, click Goals.
- Click the +NEW GOAL button.
- Select one of the three options for creating goals:
- Option 1: Using a goal template
Note: If you are new to Google Analytics, goal templates may be a good starting point.- Select the desired template from the list.
- Click Continue.
- Edit the setup fields as needed.
- Option 2: Creating custom goals
- Select Custom from the list of options
- Click Next Step.
- Select a goal type (e.g. Events).
- Continue goal setup.
- Option 3: Smart goals
- This option is only available if your account meets prerequisites.
- This option is only available if your account meets prerequisites.
- Option 1: Using a goal template
- Configure your goal.
- Select the Event goal type.
Note: This goal type treats each event as a conversion, and is what we use to track registrations.- Make sure at least one event is already defined. This is required to set up an event goal. Check out the instructions below under DEFINING EVENTS for more information.
- Use Event Conditions to configure the event components.
- Define the event's action, category, and label.
- Our event_action corresponds to the step the registration is at (i.e. start_registration and complete_registration).
- Our event_category is registration.
- Our event_label corresponds to the step the registration is at (i.e. start and complete).
Important: Text field must match.
- Select the Event goal type.
- Verify your goal.
- Click Verify this Goal to test your goal setup. This will calculate a conversion rate for this goal based on your data from the past seven days.
Editing Goals in GA

Sign in to your organization's GA account.

At the bottom of the left sidebar, Click Admin.

In the far right column, select your desired view.
Note: Views are unique to your organization and allow you to access reports and analysis tools. You can set up new views for existing properties in your account to create subsets of reporting data. -
In the View column, click Goals.

Click an existing goal's name to edit its configuration.
Using Tag Manager

From your Google Analytics Homepage, click on All accounts in the top left of your screen.
- Click on Tag Manager.
Note: Website URL must be entered in View Settings as shown in the screenshot below in order for tags to be active.
- In the Accounts tab, click Create Account.
- Fill in the Account Name, Country, Container Name, and Target Platform, then click Create.
- In the Google Tag Manager Terms of Service Agreement, click Yes and check the box at the bottom of the page to accept the Data Processing Terms.
- Once your container loads, you can install it by clicking on the container ID and launching the Install Tag Manager box. For more assistance on this process, please see the Tag Manager support article.
